The Sire is an impressive darkbody red HMPK with a superb form. This guy was bred by my friend Matthias Polzin from Germany and goes back to a pair purchased from Aquastar71, Thailand. The Sire was 3rd placed in his category at the Holland Betta Show 2010. His brother was 1st placed at this event and even made it to Best of Show. The Dame is a cambodian-based red HMPK from my own lines. She shows a strong body and peduncle with a nice broad dorsal base.
With this cross I hope to fix the strong bodies, broad dorsals and quality finnage in my red HM PK line. The offspring (F1) will be either dark- or lightbodied red HM PK.

01/01/11: The pair spawned! The male was not taking very good care of the nest. I therefore carefully removed some eggs with a syringe and added them to the nest of BT010111B.
02/01/11: The fry has hatched!
04/01/11: Fry in the free-swimming stage. The foster-Sire was removed. The fry is already feeding on newly hatched BBS.
05/02/11: The fry is now 5 weeks old. Looks like 5 fry surived.

10/02/11: The fry is now 8 weeks old. There are 4 darkbody and 1 lightbody reds.

18/03/11: The fry is now 11 weeks old. Looks like there are some very promising fish!

05/06/11: The youngsters are now 22 weeks old. They still need some work but defenitely do show some nice potential to work further with.
