The Sire is an F2 Royal blue HMPK with a strong body and balanced finnage. He has a nice D-shaped caudal, a broad based dorsal with the front nicely directed forward. The dame is an F2 steel blue black lace HMPK with a good, strong bodyshape, a smooth mouth-to-dorsal topline and amazing finnage. 
With this cross I hope to fix the strong bodies, the smooth topline and the balanced finnage. The offspring (F1) likely will be royal blue and steel blue based HMPK with a chance black lace, red wash and marble to pop up.

01/02/20: The pair spawned.
02/02/20: The fry hatched.
04/02/20: Removed the Sire, the fry have entered the free-swimming stage. 

11/05/20: 14 weeks old! The fry are steel blue and royal blue based, some in combination with black lace and/or marbling.

20/06/20: My favorite male from this spawn so far at 20 weeks of age, a royal blue lace HMPK!

04/08/20: FEMALE POWER! Two sibling females @ 26 weeks of age. Did anybody say females do not flare?

14/12/20: Two sisters who both were awarded Best of Show Female (BOSF) at two different Virtual Shows this year:
- Royal blue HMPK female (left): BOSF at the Virtual Holland Betta Show (August 2020).
- Black lace HMPK female (right): BOSF at the Virtual Bettas4all Show @ Vivarium Online (November 2020).
