The Sire is shows an extraordinary colorcombination of red, orange black and few traces of iridescence. I an truely fascinated by this combination which was unthinkable 10 years ago. His body is well shaped with a smooth topline and balanced finnage. The caudal has a good 180 degree spread, long outer rays and sharp corners, the dorsal is has a nice volume with the front rays nicely directed forward, the anal fin has a good trapezoid shape with matching ventrals. The Dame is a darkbody red HMPK with an amazing D-shaped cadual, nice dorsal, parallel anal fin and mathing ventrals.
With this cross I hope to fix the strong bodies, smooth topline and balanced finnage.
The offspring (F1) likely will be HMPK. Colorwise I expect both light- and darkbody based with red base initially but what will happen further when they mature will be a true surprise.

01/06/18: The pair spawned.
02/06/18: The fry hatched. Looks like a nice amount of fry!
04/06/18: The fry entered the free-swimming stage. Removed the male.
14/07/18: 6 weeks old. As expected all fry are lightbodied with a red base. Moved the fry to a bigger grow-out tank. Very curious to see what will happen in the coming weeks!

12/08/18: 10 weeks old. Exciting to see that the first fish start to marble. Curious to see what they will turn into.

25/08/18: 12 weeks old. The fish which started to marble two weeks ago turned lost all color and turned cellophane.

05/09/18: Interestingly one fry has lost all red and now looks like a black lace (left picture below).

13/09/18: One week later the "black lace" is also starting to loose the black layer.

17/09/18: 15 weeks old. Two jarred brothers with a pretty good potential. Curious to see whether they will marble in the future.

20/09/18: 16 weeks old. Interesting colordevelopment on the marble I showed before.

30/09/18: The black/white marble has lost some more black, but interestingly some orange dots started to appear!

20/10/18: 20 weeks old.

21/11/18: 25 weeks old.

12/01/19: Potential breeding pair at 32 weeks of age. Hope to select for a better topline and form in the next generation.
