The Sire is a black/organge VT male with little minimal iridescence on the body and a great form. He was awarded Best of Show at the Holland Betta Show 2016 in Arcen, the Netherlands. The female is a half-sibling to the male and has a nice long body and balanced finnage. She shows a dalmatian pattern.
With this cross I hope to fix the strong bodies, smooth topline and the finnage.
The offspring (F1) likely will be darkbody (with maybe some iridescence) with either red, orange or yellow finnage with a chance of dalmatian spots to appear.

01/09/16: The pair spawned smoothly. Seems to be a very small spawn.
02/09/16: The fry hatched.
04/09/16: The fry entered the free-swimming stage. Removed the male.
06/09/16: The fry is feeding well on vinegar eels and BBS. There are only 4-5 fry.
17/12/16: The fry has been growing up together with another spawn. I have jarred the first male. Interestingly he is cellophane but it seems he is developing some red spots. He now is 15 weeks old.

08/01/17: Two brothers now 18 weeks old.

27/02/17: Update on the two brothers, 26 weeks old.
