The Sire is a cambodian-based extended red HMPK with a strong body and peduncle. Because of outcrosses to longfinned fish in his background his shape is not that of a perfect HMPK. The anal and ventrals are still too long but the caudal and the broad-bades dorsal already have a great shape. The Dame is cambodian-based extended red HMPK, with a strong body and nice compact finnage. The Dame is half-sister to the male as they have the same mother.
With this cross I hope to fix the strong bodies, broad dorsals and quality finnage in my red HMPK line.
The offspring (F1) will be cambodian based red HMPKs with a chance of HMDTPKs popping up.

This spawn is special because it is the 100th spawn in my Betta Territory!

The Sire is also Father of BT070610 and BT030910

05/10/10: The pair spawned!
06/10/10: The fry has hatched!
08/10/10: Fry in the free-swimming stage. The Sire was removed. The fry is already feeding on newly hatched BBS.
30/10/10: The fry is now 3 weeks old and feeding well on BBS.
02/11/10: Made some pictures of the 4.5 week old fry:

18/11/10: The fry is now 6,5 weeks old. I have spotted some very nice broad dorsals!

03/12/10: 9 weeks old, the first males start to appear.

07/01/11: The youngsters are now 13 weeks old and developing nicely!

24/01/11: The fry is now 16 weeks old. Several males are jarred. All fish are shortfinned but the dorsal and anal finnage clearly shows the longfinned influence in their ancestry. Alhough their finnage is not according to the showstandard I personally think their appearance is amazing. These fish have great potential to work further with. Here some pictures of two jarred males:

08/03/11: Update on two males of this spawn now 22 weeks old. The male on the left is my favorite of this spawn:
