The Sire is strong-bodied extended red HMPK with a nice intense red color and minimal iridescence. The Sire almost is one year old an is maintained his form very well. The caudal has a pretty good D-shape although the edges could be a bit sharper. The dorsal fin has a broad spread but the front rays could be a bit longer and more directed forward. The anal fin is in good proportion to the rest of the finnage and the ventral fins have a single tips with a good volume. The Dame is a cambodian-based extended red (slightly stressed and not showing full color at the picture) with nice long body, broad-based dorsal and balanced finnage. The Dame is a half-sister to the male and share the same mother.
With this cross I hope to fix the intense red color with minimal iridescence, strong bodies, smooth topline and balanced finnage.
The offspring (F1) will be HMPK with a chance of DTPK to pop up. Colorwise there likely will be dark- and lightbody reds with a change of orange to pop up.

06/08/17: The pair spawned, quite a big clutch of eggs.
07/08/17: Unfortunetaly most of the eggs were eaten by the Sire but looks like about 5-10 fry have hatched.
08/08/17: The fry entered the free-swimming stage. Removed the male.
09/09/17: The fry is feeding well on vinegar eels and BBS.
16/09/17: 6 weeks old! There are 10 fry left. There are both llight- and darkbodied fry and some are DT.

15/10/17: Update on the fry, now 10 weeks old!
