The Sire is darkbody yellow HMPK with a nicely shaped body and balanced finnage. The caudal has a pretty good D-shape although the outer rays of the upper part could be slightly longer. The front of the dorsal is nicely directed forward and the anal fin and ventrals have a good shape and length. The Dame is an F2 cambodian-based red HMPK female of my own line. She has an intense red color with minimal traces of iridescence. She has a nice strong, long body (topline could be a bit smoother). She has a good D-shaped caudal with nice long outer rays. Ideally the base of the dorsal fin could be a bit broader with the first rays a bit longer.

With this cross I hope to fix the strong bodies, the smooth topline and the balanced finnage.
The offspring (F1) will be light- and darkbody red HMPK (which are all carrier for yellow).

13/05/22: The pair spawned.
14/05/22: The fry hatched. Looks like a very small spawn of <10 fish.
17/05/22: The fry entered the free-swimming stage and the Sire was removed.
04/02/23: 38-week old fry!
