Dame: Black HM

The Sire is a metallic melano black HM PK with a strong body a smooth "mouth-to-dorsal" topline. He shows a great D-shaped dorsal with a nice broad-based dorsal. The Sire is an F2 bred by my friend Matthias Polzin from Germany. He purchased the grandparents of the Sire from my creating his own line by crossing a melano HM PK male (BT250708B) to a royal blue HMPK female (BT150508). The Dame is an intense black HM and a proven plakat-carrier.
With this cross I would like to combine the both types of black (melano black and black lace).
The offspring (F1) will be darkbodied and carrier of both melano as black lace. There is a chance of both long- and shortfinned halfmoons.

The Dame is also mother of BT030910 and BT011210.

15/11/10: The pair spawned!
16/11/10: The fry has hatched!
18/11/10: Fry in the free-swimming stage. The Sire was removed.
07/02/11: The fry is now 13 weeks old and growing quite slowly

26/02/11: The fry is now 15 weeks old and showing a wide range of colors. It is very interesting to see that there are coppers popping up in this spawn. This is very interesting because this means that the black female was carrying the metallic trait as well despite that she phenotypically is hardly showing any iridescence.

09/03/11: The fry is now 16,5 week old. I jarred the first two young males!

20/03/11: Jarred some more fish at an age of 18 weeks:
