Metallic steel blue HMPK

The Sire is a heterozygous metallic steel blue-based black lace HMPK which was bred by my friend Eugenio Fornasiero from Italy. He has a big-sized caudal with a good overall form. The Dame is heterozygous metallic steel blue HMPK which was bred by my friend Pedro Cordero Pedrazo (BettaXtrem) from Spain. She shows a nice long body with a smooth topline and balanced finnage (good D-shaped caudal, broad-based dorsal and parallel anal fin). Her mother was bred by Arie de Koning and is related to my own line.
With this outcross I hope to fix the strong bodies, smooth topline and balanced finnage. The offspring (F1) likely will be either non-metalic, heterozygous metallic or homozygous metallic steel blue-based fish with a chance of black lace, marble and red wash to pop up.

16/11/18: The pair spawned.
17/11/18: The fry hatched.
19/11/18: The fry entered the free-swimming stage. Removed the male.
25/11/18: The fry is feeding well on vinegar eels and BBS.

05/01/19: 7 weeks old. Nice to see some coppers among the fry!

25/06/19: One male and one female from this spawn were send to the National Betta Show in Solihull - United Kingdom, both won a prize:
- 1st M2 HMPK male class - All Other Colors.
- 3rd F2/F3 Halfmoon plakat female class - Unicolor.

27/09/19: Copper HMPK siblings now 45 weeks of age!
