The Sire and Dame are siblings from a spawn which was very homogenous both color as finnage wise. The pair was selected because of their strong bodies and good finnage with broad-based dorsals. The pair is royal blue masked which is suspected to be non-metallic.
The offspring (F1) will be HM PK with broad dorsals. The colors will be steel blue, turquoise and royal blue based with a chance of black lace offspring to pop up.

The Sire is also father of: BT200209C & BT270409

16/12/08: The pair spawned! The male is taking excellent care of the spawn.
17/12/08: The fry hatched.
20/12/08: Fry in the free-swimming stage. The Sire was removed.
21/12/08: The fry is feeding well on BBS.
17/01/09: The fry is feeding well on tubifex and BBS. A few fry has swimbladder problems but they seem to overcome this problem. I see a few fry with nice broad dorsals. Unfortunately I had to cull a few extreme rosetails.
20/01/09: The fry is now 5 weeks old, made some pictures:

16/02/09: The fry is now 9 weeks old and showing some great colors and nice broad dorsals!! There are even some blacks popping up. Some of them are clearly melano based, whereas others are more black lace type. One male (right picture below) might be even double-black as he seems much darker than the melanos I had popping up in my lines so far:

05/03/09: Jarred 6 males of this spawn! These males show impressive colors and finnage:

13/03/09: Jarred a turquoise (with black underlayer) HM PK with promising finnage:

06/06/09: The picture posted above of a young royal blue HM PK male made it to the cover of the may/june 2009 edition of FLARE, the magazine of the IBC.

12/07/09: The youngsters are now 30 weeks old and show a great potential to work further with. I have photographed a few fry which might make it to breeders in the future.

05/10/09: Two females of this spawn were send to the 13th EHBBC show in Duisburg, Germany. Both of them won prices:
