The Sire is a steel blue-based black lace HMPK. He has a nice big-sized caudal with a pretty good overall form.
The Dame is black/red HMPK and a full sibling to the male. She has a nice long body with a smooth topline. The finnage is promising but ideally could show some improvement (better D-shaped caudal, more parallel anal fin).
With this cross I hope to fix the strong bodies, smooth topline and balanced finnage.
The offspring (F2) likely will be HMPK and can be either light- or darkbodied. The lightbodied fish likely will have a red base, whereas the darkbodied fish will be black with a varying degree of red wash.

22/05/18: The pair spawned.
23/05/18: The fry hatched. Looks like a nice amount of fry!

25/05/18: The fry entered the free-swimming stage. Removed the male.
14/07/18: 8 weeks old. As expected there are both light- and darkbodied fry. Moved the fry to a bigger grow-out tank.
