The Sire is a cambodian-based HMPK with a nice intense red color. The caudal has a nice D-shape, the front rays of the dorsal are nicely directed forward and the anal is nicely trapezoid-shaped. The ventrals have a volume and shape with nice single tips. The Dame is a cambodian-based red HMPK female with an intense red color and minimal traces of iridescence. She has a nice strong, long body (topline could be a bit smoother). She has a good D-shaped caudal with nice long outer rays. Ideally the base of the dorsal fin could be a bit broader with the first rays a bit longer.

This spawn is very special to me as the parents are from my BT010121 spawn and were almost 2 years old when they spawned. Both fish are still very vital for their age. I am very curious to see how these fry will develop.

With this cross I hope to fix the intense red color, the strong bodies, smooth topline and balanced finnage. The offspring (F3) will be cambodian-based red HMPK.

26/12/22: The pair spawned.
27/12/22: The fry hatched. Despite is age of 2-years the Sire is taking excellent care!
29/12/22: The fry entered the free-swimming stage and the Sire was removed.
25/02/23: The fry are now 9 weeks old and developing nicely. The red color on the body and head is getting more intense.
