The Sire is a steel blue HMPK with a strong body and smooth topline. The caudal has a nice D-shape with long outer rays, the anal has a good trapezoid shape with a nice gradual slope. The dorsal is uniform rounded and ideally could have a bit more volume with a broader base. The ventrals have a nice length, volume and single tips. The Dame is steel blue HMPK with a nice long body with a smooth topline. She is a full sister of the male. She has a pretty good D-shaped caudal fin, a broad-based dorsal and parallel anal fin. With this cross I hope to fix the strong bodies, smooth topline and balanced finnage. The offspring (F2) likely will be darkbody steel with a chance of black lace and marble to pop up.

28/02/16: The pair spawned smoothly, a lot of eggs in the nest.
29/02/16: Seems like the male ate quite some of the eggs but still some fry hatched.
02/03/16: The fry entered the free-swimming stage. Removed the male.
04/03/16: The fry is feeding well on vinegar eels and BBS.
11/03/16: The is now 2 weeks old.
04/05/16: The fry is now 10 weeks old and developing nicely. As expected all fry is steel blue based and spotted some nice broad dorsals.

19/06/16: The fry is now 16 weeks old. Jarred the first males last week.

08/08/16: 23 weeks old.

14/08/16: Two females 24 weeks old.

05/11/16: Females 36 weeks old.

26/04/17: One HMPK female from this spawn were send to the 9th Betta Freaks Show in Kalkar, Germany and won a prize!
