The Sire is a royal blue HMPK with a nice bodyshape, a smooth D-shaped caudal, a broad based dorsal which is nicely directed forward. At the point of spawning the Sire was 1 year and 5 months old! The dame is royal blue HMPK with a good, strong bodyshape, a smooth mouth-to-dorsal topline and balanced finnage. She became 1st placed in the Darkbody Unicolor class at the 4th Virtual Bettas4all Show (May 2021). The current crossing is an uncle x neice cross as the mother of the Dame is a full sister of the Sire.

With this cross I hope to fix the strong bodies, the smooth topline and the balanced finnage.
The offspring (F1) likely will be royal blue, turquoise and steel blue based HMPK or DTPK with a chance black lace, red wash and marble to pop up.

29/06/21: The pair spawned.
30/06/21: The fry hatched, looks like a nice sized spawn.
01/07/21: The fry (~10) entered the free-swimming stage and the Sire was removed.
23/08/21: The fry is now 8 weeks old and starting to color up nicely! As expected there are royal blue, turquoise and steel blue based fish of which some have a black lace influence. There are several DTPKs in the spawn which seem to have a nice distribution of the lobes.

05/12/21: Two royal blue HMPK blackhead brothers at 23 weeks of age.

25/01/22: Two turquoise HMPK sisters with vs. without flash at 30 weeks of age.

28/05/22: Turquoise HMPK female at 48 weeks of age.
